Cripes!
Soo, thinking that two weeks would be ample time to start being active again, i had spent 20-30 minutes during my last two lunch breaks to get some extra basketball in at a park near work. Legs were a little sore, but with Wednesday being football day, i thought i could give it a go. Do a little stretching, some light jogging. Soon as I start and try and run full speed... OW. Re-aggrevated my strained muscle from 2 weeks ago. Sigh... back on the shelf. It doesn't hurt as bad as two weeks ago (maybe because i didnt try and push it so much once it hurt) but i guess we'll see how it feels in a day or two. Bleh.Got my benefits package information from Blizzard today. Pretty cool stuff, medical, dental, vision, life insurance. 401K plan stuff. Too bad i have no idea what any of this means. Haha. Saw Brian interviewing there today too. It would be neat to have a friend working there with me.
This weekend... Sin City with Jennifer on Friday, i think. I can't wait. I'm soooooooooo anticipating this movie! Gotta pick up my pop from LAX as he comes back from Taiwan. And... i dont know, maybe i'll try and play basketball on my injured leg. Guess we'll see.
Anyone wanna watch a nifty lookin Korean film with me? It's called Oldboy. :)

Tada!
Well, nothing like a nice new expensive gadget to make you feel at least a little better about life.Mmm, that's good squishy!

Nice, eh?
More overtime this week... at least it'll help payoff my monitor. That and the 500+ bucks that i got today as a tax return =)

Jaded Bunny Daize
Easter Sunday... for the religious, i'm sure you're all spending a fun time at church. For the less religiously inclined and the agnostic like me, it's more or a less of a celebration of cute little bunny bun rabbits and their eggies. What bunnies are doing with chickens to get eggs is beyond me. Easter doesnt mean much to me, except it certainly does remind me of easter egg hunts way back in my childhood. I don't really trust my memories anymore... they confuse me sometimes. It feels like my memories are mixed up with my dreams and random fantasizings; i never really know what's real anymore. For whatever reason, the last few days i'm feeling more and more jaded with life. Work is still great, and i enjoy how things are going there. It's just... everything else i suppose. Like i'm waiting for something or someone to create a spark in the world. I just don't know where to look anymore to create my own. Maybe Vegas in April will change this... or maybe i'll allow myself to open up to other possibilities. Take more trips to San Diego.... finally make that trip up to Santa Cruz. I don't know... something! I've been particularly closed and isolated with people lately. Gotta figure how to break out of that...
From the sidewalks,
Running away from the streets we knew,
Sidewalks,
Like the time we thought was made for you.
All of the days have passed us by,
All of the sun is gone... away.

Laura, Work, and Rewards
So a few random happenings going on lately. Earlier this weekend i picked up the movie Laura. It's an old classic film noir film made back in 1944. I remember watching clips of it way back during my sophmore year in college as one of the first films to establish a theme for a specific character. Anyway, it's a pretty good mystery film, albeit rather simply by today's standards. Not a whole lot of characters or a very complex plot, however it has enough to do the job and interesting to watch the mystery unravel. It was cheap, only 10 dollars, and it was certainly something worth watching. I'll have to get around to watching some of the extras on the DVD. I know a lot of my friends aren't particularly interested in older films like this, but it's nice change of pace from some of the films today, that are heavy on fancy set pieces and visual effects, rather then the plot and characters. So what else... long work hours have hit again this week, despite quite a few new employees working. 10 hour days the last 3 days, and again tomorrow due to patch and server issues with WoW. It's nice having the OT hours, especially with my small raise, which means more money. But it certainly leaves me going home tired and without much time to do anything else (baseball drafts, laker games, TV, games). May have to work one day during the weekend as well, which i don't mind a whole lot since i don't do much anyway. Ah well, it isn't too bad i suppose.
The good thing about the extra overtime hours is that it'll help me pay for my fancy new monitor that i ordered!! Placed an order with Dell this last Tuesday for the 1905FP 19" LCD for 350 dollars. Pretty sweet deal, for a real solid monitor, based on the reviews i've read. I should get the monitor some time next week, and i can't wait. I suppose it's a little present to myself for getting my permanent status at Blizzard. Plus, considering the amount of time i spend in front of a monitor, it should be nice having a better display to look at. The extra size sure will be nice too. I hear some mixed things about playing games on the monitor, but that's alright, i'm sure it won't bother me too much. This is my first big purchase since getting a job, so it feels kinda nice throwing down 350 bucks on a fancy new toy for me to play with =) I'll take some uber cool pics of it when it arrives. I hope it ships soon!
Aside from that, not much else going on. My legs are still a bit stiff, and feel weak since i've been favoring them so much. The wounds on my right leg are still a bit tender, so i'm still walking a bit awkwardly, and its kind of a strain to stand up and sit down. Ah well, hopefully i can get some exercise in and built up strength in my legs again soon. Hopefully i can bring my car in to the dealer on Saturday for an oil change and to fix my washer fluid spray thingies. And um... Easter sunday. I'm not religious, so nothing doing for me. Maybe some spring cleaning? *shrug*

Photorific!
Updated my Blizzard photo page with some shots of some new swag i picked up recently, now proudly displayed on the bench in my bonus room. Still debating if i want to open the packages or not.Direct link HERE
And for kicks, i pumped up my Incredibles basketball that i got from Anna when she got me the DVD. Nifty, eh?
>
>And what else is going on? Well i was told Friday that they're making me a permanent employee at Blizzard! Cool beans, huh? So along with a modest 2 dollar raise, i also get all the benefits such as medical and dental insurance, vacation and sick days, and best of, a little job security. That takes quite a load off my back, and i'm really glad that the hard work and effort i put in paid off. I really love working there, and hopefully i'll be able to continue a career there. Woohoo!
Not much else happening... my legs are slowly healing. Still aches when i put a lot of weight or stand up for lengthy periods of time, as well as standing and sitting down. I don't know, hopefully i can work myself back into shape by Wednesday and give another round of football a go. But i guess we'll see what happens. I probably shouldn't push either leg too much, either to re-strain my muscle or re-open my wounds.
Watching Kill Bill again for kicks... i think i enjoy them more now then i did in theaters. Some cleaning... some errands to run tomorrow... and that's all folks.

Plowed
Not only the name of a somewhat famous song from the band Sponge, but also a accurate description of my current physical state. So Wednesday, i'm pretty excited to play football during my lunch break at work. Getting to meet some of the other guys around the office, and getting some good exercise in. Plus, its nice since in 2 games i've actually contributed with some catches and an interception. Anyhoo, yesterday, as we get ready to play and toss the ball around, i decide to stretch a bit too far to catch the ball and strain a muscle in my left leg, upper thigh area. Being the dumb, stubborn fellow that i am, i want to keep playing, so i force through it and run on the leg anyway, pretty much being unable to run full speed or make any turns. Not only did that probably jack up my leg even more, i decide to dive at a football and cut up my right leg pretty badly. Scratch that. REALLY badly. So now both my legs are hurt, making me just wobble around trying to favor one leg or the other. The strained muscle is a good deal better today, thanks to the big ol ice pack from Jennifer and some weird rubbing stuff that relaxed it. On the other hand, my cut up leg wants to keep oozing pus. Attractive, no?So that's quite the bust, as i was hoping to meet up with Rachel Wednesday night to chat and hang out for a bit, since i haven't seen her in ages. Sigh. It's incredibly uncomfortable sitting at work and being unable to walk steadily to grab a drink, go to the restroom, etc. And yes, still oozing. God i hope things get better. Its tough to even drive with both legs incredibly stiff. So yeah, even the incredible physical specimen such as myself can be left crippled. Guess no activities for a week =(
Bleh, Lakers get plowed by the Heat =(
On the brightside, Anna got me The Incredibles on DVD from Circuit City along with a nifty lil basketball. Yay! Plus i got to see and chat with Anna for a bit during her break. That's always nice. And what else...
Gonna update my page a bit later with pics of more cool stuff that i got from Blizzard today. Pretty sweet lookin toys, and a cool pendant of the Night Elf shield. =) Alright, i'm starvin, gonna go eat. Pics later!

Attack of the FuFu Berry
I had almost forgotten! When me and Jennifer went to see Robots, we also stopped by Target before the movie and decided to pick up some snacks for the movie. We ended up buying a 4 pack of Jones' FuFu Berry Soda. Cool huh? The soda was nothing special, but the name was worth it =) I think Jones is the company that had like.. the turkey soda or whatever round thanksgiving time. Pretty nifty though. Hehe. Oh yeah! While i was at Target, i ran into Pat Le for the first time since high school. He's changed quite a bit since then, but it was nice chatting with him for a bit and seeing what he's been up to. It's weird seeing him with piercings and tats up the wazoo and have him tell me he's working in banking and what not. Weird stuff. It's nice running into old acquaintences though.Ever been contacted by a background investigator? Pretty weird stuff.
Wasting time before Real World/Road Rules Inferno II hits on MTV. I love these watching these shows. That and the girl Jaime, who was on Real World San Diego, brings the hotness. Damn, that's good squishy.
Bored and downloading new music. New songs on tap:
My Chemical Romance - Helena
Pepper - Give it Up
Louis XIV - Finding Out True Love is Blind
The Bravery - Honest Mistake
Honest Mistake wins out as my new song of the moment. Good stuff. Not much goin on... UCSD has finals week. It would be nice to see Judy and Betty when their finals are over. UCI's finals are next week. Not much else planned for me... basketball on Saturday? I need to get my first oil change on my car, i should really set an appointment. Hmm... not much else. I bought some new Nike shorts for basketball, football, and whatever exercise stuff i wanna do. Was really close to buying some Adidas slides, but decided to wait since i wasn't sure if i'd even wear them that often. Hmm, i do want them though. The Incredibles comes out on DVD tomorrow! Kick ass! And a new episode of House! Woohoo! Yeah, that's it. I'm good.

The Morning Blog
Just kinda killing time before having to drive my dad to LAX in an hour. So what's been new? Let's see... Friday, after work, went out for sushi with Jennifer, which is always nice. Volcano Special, Crunch Roll, Spicy Scallop hand roll, and SUPER CALIFORNIA ROLL! YEAH! Hehe. I love California Rolls... and them being SUPER this time around was pretty tasty. Expensive (8.50?) but still good. After foodies, went off to watch Robots. Pretty good movie. I think it falls into the "Well, it's not a Pixar movie but..." category. There's a certain polish and shine that the Pixar movies always have, but Robots was still pretty fun. I didn't think there was anything totally hilarious, but there's a lot of small chuckles and smirks littered throughout the film. Definitely fun to watch. Nothing after the credits though :( Robin Williams in the film... well, i guess is self explanatory. Some times his humor is just too over the top and can get kind of lame, but he isn't too bad here. Another big plus? Getting to watch the Ice Age 2 trailer (poor Scrat and hit nut) and the Star Wars Episode III trailer on the big screen versus a computer screen. Star Wars... i don't know. The trailer looks pretty good and action packed, but considering how dissapointing the first 2 prequels were, i can't say i'm overly excited. Then again, i've never been a huge Star Wars fan to begin with. I guess fanatics just annoy the bejesus outta me. Greedo shoots first? WHO GIVES A CRAP.Yesterday... got out and shot some hoops in the morning. Some nice exercise to stretch out my sore muscles. Washed my car too, so hopefully it doesn't rain. Watched a marvelous Laker game... Kobe is absolutely ridiculous. If i could find a girl that was a big Laker fan... man, it's over! Went over to Jon's to watch The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury and just hang out to keep him company while he recovers from having his wisdom teeth pulled. I think i'm at the point where i just think... "screw it, i'll let my teeth get more jacked up and save myself from the pain." Dark Fury was pretty entertaining... shows what happens between Pitch Black and Riddick, although i wish it were a bit longer. 35 minutes begs for more story. I ate a ton of food yesterday for some reason too. Maybe it was the exercise i got in the morning. Ramen, a can of mini Ravioli, regular dinner with my parents, and then a #2 from In-N-Out heading to Jon's an hour later. And then a bag of popcorn in the evening while i was watching a movie. Dang. Must not get fat.
So what else... today... driving to LAX is going to take up most of my time. Gotta stop by for some groceries afterwards, hit an ATM for cash (i've got a whole dollar in my wallet), and maybe stop by some random stores for kicks. I still need a watch =( I don't know if i want to spend 40 bucks or 90 bucks on one. Part of me wants to be a bit more classy, but the other part says "Dude, go cheap and use the money on other cool crap!" Decisions decisions. For some reason i like looking at shoes now too. I'm really tempted to get some basketball specific shoes. I really shouldn't though.
Its weird when you hear a song that you've liked for a bit start being played elsewhere. I downloaded the song Funny Little Feelings from The Rock N Roll Soldiers a while back after i heard it on Smallville. Now it's in Gran Turismo 4 and in MVP Baseball 2005. Kinda nifty. Makes me think like... "yeah, i was there first!" It's like hearing the Von Bondies or Stella Star on the radio after listening to them so much before. Crazy music.
I need a hair cut. Hair is getting long again, not sure if i want to keep it short or let it grow out again. Hmm.

Strrreeeettttccchhhh
It's past my bedtime, but i felt like updating my page a bit before going to sleep, just for kicks. So i think my time at work is going to be a bit more interesting now... a bunch of guys from all different departments got together to play some football during our lunch break this past Wednesday. Only 10 of us were there, but it looks like there will be more in the future. It was a lot of fun getting that exercise in during the middle of the week, and it was neat meeting other fellas around work. Unfortunately we can only get to play for abot 45 minutes, but it's still some nice exercise. There's talk of playing on Fridays as well, not to mention the possibility of basketball on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Adding in this exercise every day during lunch would be quite interesting, and i'd be really excited since i know i'd participate every day. In the mean time, i really think i may just bring a change of clothes and drive down to the park whenever there isn't a game going on and just shoot some hoops. There's a nice little court across the street from The Bluffs, which is a lot like the park by my house. There wasn't really anyone around on Wednesday, so i think if Football doesn't happen tomorrow, i'll just drive down there and shoot around for 20-25 min or so. Should be good for me!Plus, been actually spending the time to lift the dumbells that i have, coincidently when Abe asks me tonite that i should go with him and Nik to the gym. Looking at the prices, that's way too much money i want to dedicate to going to the gym. No way in hell do i want to put down 300 bucks straight up to go there. Working out and exercising is one thing, but 40 bucks a month just doesn't seem worthwhile. I'll get my exercise in the old fashion way, i suppose. Get my sporting time in, and do some light weights at home, maybe even start running in the evenings after work. We'll see how that turns out, since a good diet isn't exactly part of the regime at the moment.
Other then that, not much going on. Hopefully going to see Robots with JH tomorrow or this weekend, so that should be fun. Got a few DVD's on tap to watch, a hot J.Lo cover to stare at on Blender magazine, a trip to LAX for my daddy to go to Taiwan for 3 weeks, some fantasy baseball to mess with, and a handful of cleaning i never got around to last week. The weeks are going by faster then i expected; it's still kind of hard to imagine that this is pretty much life now, but you know, i'm pretty comfortable with it and settling in nicely, although i haven't really gone out and done anything "cool" lately. In the mean time, guess i'm on cruise control... although i'm extremely tempted to do something i never thought i would have the balls to do. But that'll have to wait and see how lucky i'm feeling =) Good fight, good night!

What the France?
I really have no idea how to title some of these updates, so for today i use that simply because someone from France visited my webpage a couple days ago. Kind of weird, since it wasn't even through a Google link or whatever. Either way, people all over the world are interested in the Fu Man!So there really isn't anything new going on... work is work. I did get a new work monitor though, and today i bought a new mouse to use at work since over there i only have a crummy Dell 2 button mouse. So i bought a nice Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer to use =) An email went around last week asking who would be interested in playing football every Wednesday, so naturally i'm interested. Plans are to play football every Wednesday around noon during everyone's lunch break. I'm kind of excited to play with coworkers, not only for the exercise, but to meet some other people in the company, which can definitely be a good thing. So i guess we'll see how that turns out in the coming weeks.
What else... what else... today is Nik's birthday! So Happy Birthday Nik! I forgot to put my name in the e-card i sent you, but you oughta figure out it's from me. Happy 22nd! Too bad birthdays pretty much suck from here on out until you hit 30. Ah well. Also, spent a lot of time with Nik discussing baseball tickets. So far we have tickets to the Angels @ Dodgers in May, Dodgers @ Angels in June, and DBacks @ Dodgers in July. I'm pretty excited about the coming season, and i'm really looking forward to going to more games this season. It's nice finally having the time and money to go to more sporting events. Hopefully these won't be the only games we go to. Baseball tickets are so cheap, that it's a great way to spend in afternoon or evening.
Interestingly enough, i've found that in the last year or so i've been out of school, i've spent more time following sports. Maybe it's just because everyone else is busy and i've found myself alone most of the time, making it easier to put a heavier focus on the going ons of the Lakers and Dodgers. Whatever the case, it's fun keeping track of them more, buying merchandise and stuff. Strangely enough, i'm probably more into the Lakers this year while they struggle then previously. Spending the time writing on my webpage and posting in forums makes me wish i could be a sports reporter. It sure would be fun to do and get your own opinions out for the world to see.
Coca-Cola wiht Lime isn't too bad. I like it. Spicy BBQ 6 Dollar Burger ain't bad either, although i wish it were spicier. I got Jennifer the Good Luck Bear carebear today; its so cute. Well, not as cute as my Care Cousin Monkey =P I also got a little Batman figure for kicks. And uh... went to Extreme Pizza for some spinach and artichoke pizza. Not too shabby at all. Bottled root beer isn't that much better then canned root beer. I guess that's all for now, nothing real interesting going on. Go Lakers!
